By downloading, installing, or using Life Tape ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Life Tape is a voice-first journaling application that allows you to:

• Record voice memories
• Receive AI-powered transcriptions
• Organize memories by timeline
• Share and export your content
• Access premium features via subscription

3. Account Registration

You must:

• Be at least 13 years old
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account
• Verify your email address
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Subscription and Payment

• Basic features
• Cancel Anytime

Premium Subscription

• Unlimited memories and shares
• Dark Side journal with PIN protection
• Active listening (hands-free recording)
• Priority AI processing
• Monthly: $7.99/month
• Annual: $79.99/year (save 17%)

Billing Terms

• 7-day free trial for new subscribers
• Automatic renewal unless cancelled 24 hours before period ends
• No refunds for partial subscription periods
• Prices subject to change with 30 days notice

5. Acceptable Use

You MAY:

• Record personal memories and stories
• Share memories you mark as "shareable"
• Export your content for personal use
• Use the App for journaling, autobiography, or therapy

You MAY NOT:

• Share another person's private information without consent
• Upload content that violates laws or rights of others
• Use the App for illegal activities
• Attempt to bypass security measures
• Reverse engineer or modify the App
• Resell or redistribute the service

6. Content Ownership

You retain all rights to your content. By using Life Tape:

• You own your voice recordings, transcriptions, and memories
• We store your content to provide the service
• We do not claim ownership of your memories
• You grant us a license to process your content (transcription, title generation) solely to provide the service

7. AI Processing

By using Life Tape, you understand that:

• Voice recordings are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription
• Audio files are not stored by OpenAI after processing
• GPT-4 generates titles based on transcription text
• AI accuracy is approximately 95% but not guaranteed
• You can manually edit all AI-generated content

8. Privacy and Security

We take your privacy seriously:

• Dark Side memories are encrypted with your PIN
• We cannot access your private content
• All data transmitted over secure HTTPS

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Abuse the service or other users

You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Your data will be permanently deleted after 30 days.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Life Tape is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• 95% accurate transcriptions
• Data will never be lost (always backup important memories)
• Suitability for medical or legal purposes

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Life Tape shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data or memories
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Lost profits or business opportunities
• Damages exceeding the amount you paid in the past 12 months

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Life Tape from claims arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your content or use of the service
• Your violation of any third-party rights

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be notified via:

• Email to your registered address
• In-app notification
• Updated "Last Updated" date above

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law
